Nyah is a broadcast journalism graduate from Florida A & M University. As an award-winning spoken word poet, she has touched stages like the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City and Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center. Her poetry has been recognized by the National YoungArts Foundation, the Poetry Foundation, and the Presidential Scholar in the Arts program.
Nyah has creatively collaborated with companies such as Beats by Dre and the Washington Wizards. Her writing has been published in Poetry Magazine, The Washington Independent Review of Books and HBCU Buzz.
As an entertainment journalist specializing in sports and music coverage, she has worked with Universal Music Group, Amazon Music, The Recording Academy, The Washington Mystics and the Miami Dolphins. Currently, Nyah is an associate producer for SiriusXM NFL Radio and serves as the editor in chief of the music magazine she founded, S & M Magazine.
As a member of Cypress Bay High School’s bluapple poetry club, Nyah participated in Louder Than a Bomb Florida for three years, reaching the Individual Finals each year, and helping her team reach the LTABFLA Team Finals once. She also was a two-time winner of the WordUp! Poetry Slam, and was a member of bluapple’s CORE, a leadership group of high school poets. More recently, she has worked with the Jason Taylor Foundation to help write three tribute poems honoring Jason Taylor Community Hall of Fame members.
